Confused by the HD-DVD / Bluray war??

A friend of mine recently claimed ignorance in the HD-DVD/Bluray format battle. I had little to say to him as I see both formats as a sure-fire waste of time because of movements in on-demand-video and faster broadband speeds.
However, this article draws a clear conclusion which is very compelling.
I enthusiastically recommend HD DVD because it’s a better product and a better proposition for consumers. Signs are showing it is going to trounce Blu-ray, and soon. Surprised?
Basically, Bluray is going down the pan. I foresee it living on within the PS3 in the same way that the Sega GD format did in the Dreamcast days.
