The recent news that the BBC are killing off flagship sporting program Grandstand leads me to believe that a dedicated BBC Sports Channel will be upon the public sometime in the future.

The BBC have not confirmed anything but quotes such as:

“There will also, unequivocally, be more Sport available in total from the BBC.”

and:

“Sport shouldn’t be defined by what’s on one television channel on a Saturday afternoon, and we want the freedom to schedule more events where viewers want them.”

Surely point to a 24 hour “BBC Sport” channel being upon us soon?
