James Van Allen sadly dies
This came as a very weird shock today:
James Van Allen, one of the pioneers of America’s space program who gave his name to the belts of radiation that encircle the Earth, died Wednesday. He was 91.

Why was it a such a shock? He was 91 years old!
It was a shock Because yesterday I watched this documentary:

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon (2001)
I found this pile of pseudo - science - conspiracy - theory - crap via the quite wonderful Free Movies, Documentaries, Cartoons, Music & Comedy website.
I could not believe that such a idiotic piece of film could have been put together as late as the year 2001. A time when surely ALL of the conspiracy about the moon trips had been proved for what they are (complete bollocks).
The religious overtones and overuse of spooky and over-dramatized music made me physically wince in my seat as I watched, sometimes screaming at the TV.
ALL of the so called “theory’s” put forward were shambolic and under researched to the point of pure ignorance.
Today, I planned to write a short de-bunk-style post linked to this useless piece of film making. My main gripe with the film was its use of the Van Allen Belts as evidence that we never went to the moon.
The use of the Van Allen Belts by moon conspiracy idiots is widespread. They theorize that the human body cannot deal with the strain this cosmic phenomenon places upon it and we would simply keel over and die without masses of lead shielding.
Sadly for the conspiracy nuts, this is not the case. And Van Allen himself, until yesterday, was around to gleefully prove this:
Proponents of the Apollo Moon Landing Hoax have argued that space travel to the moon is impossible because the Van Allen radiation would kill or incapacitate an astronaut who made the trip. Van Allen himself, now deceased (August 9, 2006), dismissed these ideas (from Wikipedia)
Who would make such a film? This bloke, that’s who:
Bart Sibrel, film maker, conspiracy freak and idiot. A man who believes that making documentaries that go against science fact is a good honest way to spend his life. A man who from Van Allens perspective took his theory and used it for his own selfish and bias needs.
As a tribute to Van Allen I would like to embed a video. A video of Bart Sibrel (film maker, conspiracy freak and idiot) being hit in the face by Buzz Aldrin (astronaut, hero and moon walker):

Goes to show you do NOT insult a man who’s gone to the moon and back.
Lol, way to go Aldrin.
Bart Sibrel is such a whiny wimp. Aldrin probably has more courage, and honor in his little fingernail than Sibrel has in his whole body.
Look on youtube for all splitting of audio and video channels, and creative cutting and pasting of NASA video’s Sibrel has done to fuel his lie that the landings were faked.
He gets rich off the backs of people who believe his video’s and part with their money.
Hell for all I know Sibrel knows we did land but this is his weasel way of gaining personal wealth.
