WP 2.8 just came out of BETA. Check the video:
Looks pretty good. I can’t wait for v3.
Now, I’m not a HUGE widget user becuase they always seemed to be missing something. Looks like I need to get into them more with this release.
I still think that they need moving to their own Tab and away from the Appearance/Themes area.
Check your dashboard for automatic update now

You should put this kind of information on your base6 blog.
Love WP 2.8, All the widget functionality is somthing that I created for my custom CMS (appart from you can drag drop mine in place inline with the page). Another few years before it can do all the other things WP can do though eh?
